The leaves are changing color, the air is getting colder, and pumpkin is being injected into every beverage and dessert item possible. You know what that means? It’s Fall.

I love Fall. I love the colors, the clothes, the warm drinks. I love the way that it makes me feel fresh. I guess some people feel fresh in Spring, but Fall makes me feel that way. I love wearing my boots and going to Julian with our friends. I love eating pie and cooking soup. I love having a birthday during Fall. I love that you’re kind of living in anticipation and excitement for the holidays, but it hasn’t quite escalated to holiday stress. I love the way the air smells. I love brisk walks and cozy cafés. I love that all of a sudden I hate white wine. (“Red, please.”) I love putting pumpkins out and wearing scarves. I love everything about it. I just love Fall.

I wasn’t sure why I wanted to write about this until just now… just as I finished that paragraph. You know when you get excited about something and you just want to share it with everyone you know? You want them to experience it, to love it as much as you do. I think I feel that way about Fall. I love to see pictures of your lattes and your boots and the leaves on the ground. It makes me feel like I know you, like we share something. I love that this love for something so intangible unites us. I guess that’s what I love most about Fall… that I can see that photo of your hands curled around a toasty drink and I can think, “Hey, she loves lattes and cozy cafés and boots and leaves and Fall… I like her.” We need more things like that in this world.

But seriously people, calm down with the pumpkin.
