WELCOME TO OUR

Journal

In a social-media-run-world we LOVE blogging because it gives us a space to share more of our work that just "the highlight reel". Honestly, anyone can take 3 great photos from a wedding to share on Instagram. We love sharing an ENTIRE wedding day so that you can see how consistently beautiful our work is. Plus, it's a fun way for our clients to share their wedding images with friends and family online. We hope you enjoy!

The Cuppycake

Oh…my…goodness… My life is so weird.

This morning I was going through Jacob’s and my Facebook “friendship” looking for photos from our first date (since today is Friday the 13th and our first date was on Friday the 13th), and I stumbled across so many amazing things. I am only going to share one of those amazing things and this is it. (Keep in mind that at this time I thought of him as a big brother and the idea of us actually getting married was the furthest thing from my mind.)

Let me explain. When I was in 7th grade I went on a Jr. High winter retreat with my youth group. Jacob, a Junior in High School at the time, was one of the leaders on the trip. On Saturday night of that weekend, they had a mini talent show. So, in my best baby voice, with pigtails in my hair, braces on my teeth, and holding my baby blanket (that I had apparently brought on the trip), I sang this song:

.

Jacob was strangely in love with the song and for the next two years, would ask me to sing it. (It sounds pretty creepy when I say it like that, but at the time it was really just an inside joke we had.)

Fast forward a few years to May of 2008. I had a summer job at a church where my main responsibility was keeping the candy dish full. So, I spent countless hours on Facebook writing to friends, looking at people’s pictures, and trying to make human contact with anyone who would talk to me. I saw a picture of Jacob in Fresno so I decided to try to get him to come visit me at church, or maybe even bring me lunch. Thus began this conversation:

He’s so sassy! It’s amazing to me that our lives have been so intertwined for so long. And here we are, 5 and a half years later, married, something that seemed so impossible that I would joke about it. But I guess a deal is a deal. One baby-voice rendition of “The Cuppycake Song,” coming right up!

I repeat, my life is so weird.
