A Private Estate Wedding in Fallbrook, California
From the bride, Lindsey: Andrew and I spent exactly 7 years and 1 month together before we finally tied the knot! I think if we had to pick one word to describe our relationship, it would be “endurance,” high school was wonderful but we went to separate colleges in different states. We are SO happy to be back in the same place and now for the rest of our lives.
Our goal for our wedding was to style it around everything that we love! I own S’more Sweets bakery so it was very important for me to reflect my love of desserts. My husband is an English and loves to read so we obviously had to include lots of books.
We had two really big DIY projects, our handmade napkins and our table numbers. Throughout our engagement I bought tons of fabric and my mom and her friends sewed over 175 napkins! The book table numbers were another huge project. I collected over 50 vintage books and folded them to make them into table numbers. I designed all invitations, signs, fans, and escort cards which was great because I was able to incorporate the designs into my cakes as well. Because everyone knows me for my desserts I knew I had to make a big statement on the desserts bar. I decided to make a collection of cakes that were displayed from the ceremony to the reception that were inspired by the napkins, the flowers, and the paper goods. I knew the dessert bar needed to be epic so I made all of mine and Andrew’s favorites and had little takeout boxes for guests to take desserts home. We also had a S’mores bar with different flavored marshmallows, chocolates, and graham crackers.
Our favorite moment of the day was right after we sat down for dinner and had a couple of minutes to just relax, talk to each other, and soak it all in.
Everyone tells you that you shouldn’t sweat the small stuff, which is totally true! I would just add, that nobody knows what little projects you don’t end up doing. So when life gets crazy and overwhelmed don’t worry if you don’t finish every little project that you had hoped.
