WELCOME TO OUR

Journal

In a social-media-run-world we LOVE blogging because it gives us a space to share more of our work that just "the highlight reel". Honestly, anyone can take 3 great photos from a wedding to share on Instagram. We love sharing an ENTIRE wedding day so that you can see how consistently beautiful our work is. Plus, it's a fun way for our clients to share their wedding images with friends and family online. We hope you enjoy!

From the bride, Brittany:

We met when I was 15 and Jordan was 16.  We were high school sweethearts and each other’s first love.  After seven years of dating he proposed on the Love Lock Bridge in Paris on the trip of a lifetime.  Now eight years later we are almost two months into our marriage and we could not feel more blessed to go through life as best friends and soulmates!

My vision for our wedding day was timeless romance. We had a stunning ocean view as our backdrop and we didn’t want the colors or details from our wedding to over power that view. We wanted all the details to be soft, whimsical, and elegant but still have some flare! We chose blush and ivory as our colors and then incorporated dripping crystals and metallic silver accents to get some flare.

Special Touches: We incorporated something special from Jordan’s maternal great grandmother into my bouquet and his boutonniere. We pinned her broche onto the handle of my bouquet and a pearl charm from one of her necklaces on Jordan’s boutonniere. We didn’t have a lot of time for DIY projects but the ones we did were the escort cards & display, the meal indicator cards and card box.

Favorite Moment: Definitely the first touch! I was feeling so many different emotions (anxious, nervous, excitement) during the getting ready process that morning. Then the moment I held Jordan’s hand I became completely calm and more excited than ever to marry him.

Advice: It is never too early to start planning! I had friends who said they went crazy the month leading up to their weddings because there are so many last minute things you don’t realize you need to do. I was ahead of the game throughout my wedding planning process so I didn’t have that chaotic month before the wedding. It was nice to relax, spend time with friends and family, and take in every moment of the events leading up to the wedding! Also, the best advice we took from family and friends was not to leave for our honeymoon the morning after the wedding. You do not realize how exhausted you are going to be after the wedding. It was so special to have that day after the wedding to just relax and talk to each other about every moment of our special day. We even started opening some of our presents before we left for our honeymoon the following day!

Musical Choices: Processional of WP: A Thousand Years by Christina Perri | Processional of Bride: Marry Me by Train | Recessional: I’m Yours by Jason Mraz | First Dance: Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran | Father/Daughter: My Little Girl by Tim McGraw | Mother/Son: My Wish by Rascal Flatts

My favorite photo from that day is the one where you see me walking down the aisle towards Jordan and you see his reaction when he sees me for the first time. That photo gives me butterflies. I love it. We did a first touch instead of a first look before the ceremony so we would have that special moment of seeing each other for the first time as I was walking down the aisle. To have that moment captured is amazing!
